Las Luces

Las Luces is a cafe in a detached house.
We can access there by walking through LA VITA ( which is a "tiny" Venice :-) ) from JIYUGAOKA station then turn left at the corner ahead .
It's located near a residential area, so it's like a refuge from bustle.

Almost all lunch menus cost ¥1050.
One of my recomendations is "FUJITA-SAN-CHI-NO-CURRY" フジタさん家のカレー which means FUJITA's family curry.
The lengthy cooking time has produced many rich flavours, without it being too much.

And more, they also serve "petit gateau" - pound cake.
We can choice 2 pieces from the showcase for ¥630.
How beautiful are they?

Many antique goods are exhibited on the 2nd floor for sale.

nana's green tea - JIYUGAOKA

New Japanese-style cafe
They have different varieties of green tea, ANMITU which is a kind of dessert, ZUKE-MAGURO which is a bowl of rice topped with raw tuna marinated in soy sauce, TON-JIRU wich is a miso soup with boiled pork, etc. All these dishes are based on Japanese traditional food. But this restaurant is a western-style cafe, so it belongs to a new genre in Japan. It is acutually a "japanese-style cafe".

The head store is located to the south of jiyugaoka station. Compared to the head store, this store has reasonable prices and a varied menue.

We can't say the building space is large but they have 1F to 3F(smoking room).

TON-JIRU & TORORO
The picture below is "ZEITAKU-TON-JIRU-TORORO-GOHAN set" ¥900. I chose "MIZUDASHI-SENCHYA" which is a kind of cold green tea as a drink. TON-JIRU is a miso soup with boiled bork. This one is not so fatty, and is healthy and well-balanced in nutrition.

JUNOESQUE BAGEL (JIYUGAOKA)

Healthy Bagel Shop in Jiyugaoka
JUNOESQUE BAGEL is a bagel shop&cafe which is located near a railroad crossing on OOIMACHI LINE.
It produces an open&clean atmosphere because of the floor-to-ceiling glasse windows.

They have two types of lunch menus.
One is "A set" with one spread for ¥785. The other is "B set" with two spreads for ¥945. You can add a soft drink for an extra ¥210.

Cream Spread Also Good
This photo is "today's B set", Shrimp&Avocado and Soured Blueberry Cream spreads.
I don't eat bagel usually, but I unexpectedly thought such a soured cream bagel was also delicious.
The clam chowder soup on the side tasted rather simple, and it wasn't too stodgy.
The deep fried potatoes had a distinctive shape which were thinner than fast food restaurants'.

O'CAROLAN'S

O'CAROLAN'S is an Irish pub in Jiyugaoka.
People from other countries also come together and it livens up.

It's very large inside.
Bar counter, tables and chairs etc. all furniture is made of wood and is old, which makes us feel an authentic Irish atmosphere.

Sometimes, on the day of a sports event, the place is crowded with people who want to watch the game on a big screen like a sports cafe.

"How about day time?" - I thought, then tried.
They were showing Japan vs. Czech Republic under-20 soccer game on the screen by chance when I visited. But It isn't as crowded as nighttime. So I could be in a relaxed mood.

This photo is a lunch of beef stew including one drink for ¥1,000.

People should make sure to pay in advance because they adopt pub style. :-)

And... I don't know why it is here. But there is sometimes a comedy show by Pakkun - Patrick Harlan who is a famous comedian in Japan.

SHUU'S RESTAURANT (JIYUGAOKA) - 周之家

You may eat as much as you like choosing from more than 20 dishes.
SHUU'S RESTAURANT - 周之家 is a Chinese restaurant which is located near Jiyugaoka station. Almost all tables are like a private space because each is separated by bamboo blinds.
You may eat as much as you like for ¥1,100(M) or ¥1,000(F) at lunch time. And you can also choose from a soft-drink bar for an extra charge (¥200).

Don't eat too much. :-)

Bangkok Kitchen (Jiyugaoka)

Bangkok Kitchen is a Thai restaurant which serves many dishes of good quality. It's part of a chain restaurant, other venues being Sinbashi and Marunouch. The one in Jiyugaoka has a long counter with approximately 20 seats besides table seats.

They have two standard lunch menus. "A Set" consists of rice dishes while "B Set" consists of noodles. Both of them cost ¥900.
They also have a "Special Lunch Set" which is a few more dishes than the menus above for ¥1,500.

I ate today's "A Set" - Green Curry and Fried Bean-Starch Vermicelli.
This menu includes a sweet coconut dessert also.
s-s-BangKok1.jpg

I ordered "Yam Wun Sen" as an extra because it's my favorite.
